Design-Build and Installation of New Medical Air & Vacuum System Replacement

SCOPE OF WORK
Medical Air System Replacement

Phase 1

  • Plan, review and coordinate (N) MGA-signal wire conduit route from (N) medical vacuum system. Complete all conduits
and wiring to a terminal box in the mechanical room. ICRA planning and coordination. (2) (E) Master Alarm Panel
    locations including security office.
  • Coordinate and complete demo/removal of (E) HE-5 and HE-6. *Including review of steam piping distribution system.
  • Complete (N) concrete equipment pad.
  • Install temporary medical air system equipment. Including plumbing, electrical, and structural installation requirements.
Current plan is to install temporary medical air system on existing concrete equipment pads.

Phase 2

  • Receive set and seismically anchor (N) AES-Powerex triplex 40HP oil-less scroll medical air compressor system model
    AES-MSET40-SPL with variable pump demand.
  • (N) Powerex Oil-Less Scroll air compressors.
  • Proposed Triplex 40HP Powerex.
  • System Capacity 294.4 ICFM @ 50 PSIG with (1) 40HP Enclosed Scroll in Reserve. *System Capacity 368
ICFM @ 50 PSIG with one 20HP module compressor in reserve per NFPA99.
  • 25% to 56% increase in system capacity.
  • Confirm height dimension of structural steel pipe supports and stands as required.
  • Install structural steel pipe support and stands as required.
  • Complete (N) medical air system plumbing POC for medical air intake (E) 3” and medical air discharge (E) 2”. Coordinate
    medical air system installation verification/certification.
  • Complete interconnecting system wiring.

Phase 2

  • Receive set and seismically anchor (N) AES-Powerex Quad 15HP oil-less rotary claw medical vacuum system model
CVPQ1505 with VFD controls and manifold piping. System Capacity 387 SCFM @19″HGVAC with one pump reserve per NFPA99.  *Note 129 SCFM @19″HGVAC each vacuum pump.
  • Confirm height dimension of structural steel pipe supports and stands as required.
  • Install structural steel pipe support and stands as required.
  • Complete (N) medical vacuum system plumbing POC for exhaust/discharge (E) 4” and suction (E) 4”. *Provide temporary/emergency suction and exhaust POC valves.
  • Coordinate medical air system installation verification/certification.
  • Complete interconnecting system wiring.
  • Complete main power feed.
  • Startup and test (N) medical vacuum system.
  • Coordinate final medical gas system certification.

Phase 3

  • Demo and remove (E) medical vacuum system.
  • OSHPD Closeout
